Charter company YachtPlus has started in boundless ocean the first super-yacht “The Ocean Emerald” over which design has worked Norman Foster. Thus, the known architect has captured practically all elements; creations of the well-known architect have mastered: the earth, air (plane Falcon 7X for company NetJets) and water.

Luxury yacht by Norman Foster

The main feature of this magnificent yacht — space and light. Length of model — 41 metre, 5 apartments where can comfortably take places to 12 visitors here are equipped, it is supposed seven places for attendants and a command.

Internal planning of a yacht flexibly meets the most various requirements which can arise at owners and visitors during travel. Attention to details — here the motto of manufacturers; each nuance of an interior and an ex-terrier, and also such components of the general style as a command uniform is provided.

The Ocean Emerald by Foster + Partners

For conditions registration products of Italian manufacturer Cassina have been chosen, the kitchen room and a dining room are equipped by production of mark Schiffini.

Ocean Emerald becomes the first of four yachts over which design experts from Foster + Partners will work. Series manufacture is planned next two years. The second yacht, Ocean Pearl will be floated by autumn of 2009 year, the third — Ocean Sapphire — in the beginning of 2010 and Ocean Emerald for Playboy. The name for the fourth yacht which manufacture is planned on second half 2010, for the present is not thought up.

SpaceShipTwo For the Space Travels

The company specializing on development of space tourism, Virgin Galactic, has presented the conceptual plane for short travel into a terrestrial orbit.

Transport is called SpaceShipTwo, under plans flight should begin mass flights in space in 2011 year. SpaceShipTwo can transport six passengers, the trip will last 2,5 hours.

Railway Station “Under the Peak”

The New Railway Station in Liège (Belgium)

The project of brand new railway station with a huge peak from a steel and glass was developed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.

High-speed Railway System in Belgium

The project connects two parts of a city till now divided by tracks. The peak covers five platforms and lasts on 145 meters at length.
The underground floor with a series of foot bridges and paths which connect various parts of a complex is created. The station provides a high-speed railway system of Belgium with a new complex of services.

Norman Foster has become interested in lunar architecture

Bureau Foster + Partners, the well-known British architect, will take part in the program on studying of prospects of building of buildings on the Moon. Details of the project do not disclose, but, according to edition Building Magazine, bureau Foster + Partners will be engaged in studying of the materials existing on the Moon and Mars and potentially suitable for building.

The project will be a part of the big program "Aurora" of the European Space Agency. The representative of a bureau has informed, that a certain tender is provided, but on details to make comments has refused.

Spaceport for Virgin Galactic

The Guardian reminds, that Foster + Partners is engaged in designing of the first-ever private spaceport by request of company Virgin Galactic. Spaceport should open in 2011 in desert in the State of New Mexico.

Norman Foster — the winner of every possible architectural awards, architectural bureau Foster + Partners was engaged in the project such known constructions, as: a covered court yard of the British museum, reconstruction Reichstag in Berlin, Hurst's tower in New York, the London skyscraper.

New photos of a tower “The Shard”, a multi-functional building which will construct near to London Bridge are published. Design: Renzo Piano Building Workshop.

Works on building of a building in height of 306 metres which should be placed on a place of the wrong form near to station “London Bridge” have begun. The tower is a part of new building, London Bridge Quarter.

The design concept: some front glass blocks which are located under an inclination inside, but not incorporating completely. The image is inspired by ship masts by which Thames has once been filled.

On 72 floors offices, apartments, hotel, the trading areas and restaurants will be placed; in the top, survey part of a building (15 floors) the gallery will be placed.

The tower will be constructed on a place of a building of 1970 year of construction (Southwark Tower) which has been decided to dismantle for preparation of a place of building. The project is planned to finish by 2012th year.

Social habitation in Paris

French architectural bureau ECDM has finished building of an apartment house in the north of Paris.

Here it is planned to place students, university teachers and women who require support — so it is spoken in release.

Various wings of a building are identified by colour — designers have thought up the original colour coding. Authors assert, that the concept, ideally corresponds to a district landscape.

The project will play various roles in the future; a stimulator of development, a divider of territory, a link between industrial and commercial buildings. The building place is mastered as follows: here 150 apartments for 170 inhabitants, 19 houses for researchers and the invited professors, and also already mentioned women are created.

In a complex all necessary household equipment is provided. Here there are premises for protection, private rooms for work and study, laundries, rooms for rest, as inside, and on the nature, gardens with fruit trees.

Buildings are focused on the east and the West that allows to protect naturally inhabitants from pollution and the noise connected with road lying nearby. Parametres of volume of four buildings are perfectly integrated into an architectural landscape of district, transition and interaction with the next buildings is conveniently organised.

The Modern Facade

Natoma Architects have suggested not to refuse from actual in traditional conditions. They have entered a modern facade in a classical architectural landscape of San Francisco. The main innovation of this construction — a continuous metal covering which allows to get to a sunlight inside. The interior also is minimum as a matter of fact.
